Templates: What is the difference between an Invoice Template, Summary Template and Unpaid Invoice Statement Template?

INVOICE:

Invoice Template: Generates new Invoices and invoice numbers for your Client's bills. Your Matter Ledger and Trust Ledger will reflect these changes.

You can choose from 6 of our standard invoice templates and set as your default invoice template.

Or, you can upload your own. If you upload your own, use the Merge Field Cheat Sheet and include all acceptable merge fields.

SUMMARY:

A Summary Template will display a summary of balances for all of the client’s matters, not including the current invoice. A client summary Template will include the cover page (Summary Page) with individual invoice totals and combined totals into one document (PDF).

This Summary Template option is available only from the batch billing screen. For example, when selecting 'Download Invoice Preview', you'll be prompted with the following to which you can generate a pre-bill, or invoice. You'll need to select 'Compile each client's invoices into one document (PDF only)' in order for the toggle to appear to include the client summary page.

The following Summary Template Merge Fields found on the Merge Field Cheat Sheet are intended to work on the Summary Template only.

STATEMENT:

Statement Template: An Unpaid Invoice Statement displays the Client, Matter information, and the Invoice numbers of processed Invoices with the total amount due for all.

This does not create a new invoice or invoice number. It is just an overview of what's due for all matters. The Unpaid Invoice Statement template can be modified in the 'Custom Invoice Template' section.

The following Statement Template Merge Fields found on the Merge Field Cheat Sheet are intended to work on the Statement Template only.
